Background: JDI Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch

JDI Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch (JDIT-K), a new branch of JDI Taiwan, was formed in Dec 2021 to advance the design, development and sales of market leading industrial LCD display business previously handled by Kaohsiung Opto-Electronics Inc.

Since 2012, Kaohsiung Opto-Electronics Inc., which carried over the display business from Kaohsiung Hitachi Electronics, has explored the use of displays in various industrial applications while strengthening its cooperation with JDI's AutoTech business unit to build the comprehensive Rugged+ portfolio and grown the business with value-added solutions.

In Oct. 2021, JDI sold Kaohsiung Opto-Electronics Inc. to Wistron (Taiwanese EMS) but kept Design, Sales and Marketing, and the KOE brand, with the goal of concentrating on the continual enhancement of an extensive range of high-quality and performance-optimised display solutions. Based in Kaohsiung Cianjhen Technology Industrial Park, JDIT-K will maintain a renewed Japanese dedication for the design and development of display solutions.

JDIT-K is proud of inheriting an established LCD heritage. Almost 40 years ago, as an early pioneer of LCD technology, Hitachi developed and produced simple character and dot matrix displays. More recently the development and introduction of IPS, LTPS, and Pixel Eyes technology reiterated JDI's commitment to providing display excellence. Continued investment in R&D will ensure that JDIT-K stays at the forefront of rapidly evolving display technology.

Japan Display Inc. (JDI) was formed in 2012 by the merger of the small and medium size LCD panel businesses of Hitachi, Sony and Toshiba in conjunction with the Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ). In January 2021, JDI adopted a new management structure to accelerate fundamental changes in how to run the business and better serve WW customers. Environmental Policy

Recognizing that conservation of global environment is one of the most important challenges for humanity, we at Japan Display Inc. group respect people and environment, and aim to contribute to a sustainable society.

Basic policy: We will continually improve our environmental management system to work to reduce environmental burden, considering lifecycle of our display products. We will comply with domestic and foreign legal requirements and other voluntarily accepted requirements. We will set environmental objectives or others on the following priority themes and promote activities for their achievement to work for prevention of pollution and protection of environment.

Priority themes:

We will reduce environmental burden of business activities: 1-1) promote measures against global warming, energy conservation and effective use of water; 1-2) thoroughly manage chemical substances and promote their reduction and substitution; 1-3) promote 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) activities of waste.
We will reduce environmental burden of products: 2-1) promote the development of environmentally considered products; 2-2) thoroughly manage chemical substances contained in products; 2-3) promote green procurement.
We will work on activities for conservation of biodiversity and environmental activities at local communities.

To ensure our environmental conservation activities, we will communicate this policy to all employees and provide them with environmental education thoroughly, and will also ask our business partners for cooperation.
